A unique bust type of Constantine II

Constantine II, as Caesar, 316-337. Follis (Bronze, 18 mm, 2.91 g, 12 h), Rome, circa 320. CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine II to left, raising his right hand in salute. Rev. SAE[C]V[LI F-E]LICITA[S] / P - R / [R Q] Wreath with AVG set on garlanded cippus. RIC -. Extremely rare, one of three known examples. Somewhat rough and slightly strengthened, otherwise, very fine.

This bust type is unique and not listed in RIC. It shows Constantine II draped and cuirassed, and he extends his right arm forward with open hand with the palm up. It is similar to RIC bust type L2, but in that type, the arm is raised in a greeting gesture, with the palm facing forward. Only one die for this unlisted bust is known.
